Doppler Meters SonTek®-SL SERIES

The SonTek SL Doppler Current Series was designed with the need for a simple way to measure water velocity and level in open channels in mind. It has earned worldwide acceptance as a long-term monitoring solution. There are two 3G models of the Doppler Current Meters that are turbo-charged by the SmartPulseHD® and the series has accessories, mounting options, software, and a variety of integration formats to ensure it fits your application.

These Doppler Current Meters were designed specifically for side mounting on bridges, canal walks, or riverbanks with their sleek low-profile housing for easy installation. There are three models to be chosen from as this series can be used in small channels or rivers as wide as the Amazon. The ultra-narrow beam widths combined with unmatched side lobe suppressions brings superior acoustic directivity necessary for achieving maximum horizontal range free of interference from surface or bottom boundaries.

Test data can be collected within minutes of using the SL Series and deployments require only a few moments to configure the SL and start collecting data. The Doppler Meter Series provides the highest quality Doppler velocity data without requiring the user to be an expert on Doppler technology.

Water Velocity and Level:

Multiple parameters such as water velocity, level, flow, and total volume can be measured from this one easy-to-use instrument. Acoustic Doppler profile of velocity data and acoustic water level offer the most accurate, reliable measurements.

SmartPulseHD®*:

The intelligent algorithm looks at water depth, profiling range, velocity, and turbulence, and then it adapts acoustically to those conditions using pulse-coherent, broadband, and incoherent techniques. This gives the best possible data under any condition and high definition to cell sizes as small as 4cm.

Compact, Hydrodynamic Design:

This is an incredibly lightweight and easy to transport and mount design. There is a slim shape that is easy to maintain, stays clean, increases available sample area, and fits into more places to bring versatility to your field work.

Water Velocity Profiling:

This series is customisable with a flexible setup option to suit a variety of applications. The 3G models offer 128 cells for high resolution and detailed profiles.

Acoustic-Pressure "Duo" Water Level (3G models only):

The acoustic vertical bean and pressure sensor continually self-check, and the pressure data are autocorrected to keep atmospheric offset negligible.

Versatile and Easy Mounting:

The ability to get easy-access side mounting reduces concerns over the personnel safety, lowers the cost as it avoids having divers and boats, avoids interruption in facility operations, and avoids interruption in data and water delivery to clients and stakeholders.

Wave Spectra Option:

Integrated pressure sensor calculates and outputs wave-height and period, in real-time (SL-500 model only.)
