MEM EBS is an amino acid and vitamin rich medium that was developed from Eagles Basal Medium. Based on Eagles Hanks BSS, MEM was one of the most widely used of all synthetic cell culture media. Both MEM Eagle with EBS or HBS supports the growth and proliferation of a variety of fastidious primary mammalian cells and established cell lines, both in monolayer and suspension culture. Supplementing a serum or certain proteins into the medium supports this culture.
