Dulbecco's MEM (DMEM):

Dulbecco’s MEM is the most popular modification of Basal Medium Eagle. This cell culture media contains four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. There were non-essential amino acids and certain essential trace elements added along with a bicarbonate concentration increase. The standard formula has 1000 ml/L glucose, the ‘high glucose’ variation comes with 4500 mg/L. DMEM was developed for the culture of mouse embryonic cells but now has a broad application as a serum free culture for normal and transformed mouse or chicken cells, e.g. 1:1 with Ham’s F-12.
