Ball Mill MM 500 Vario
Ball Mill MM 500 Vario
The Ball Mill MM 500 Vario is a versatile bench-top unit that can process up to 50 samples in one batch. This milling machine provides ultimate performance with maximum flexibility for sample preparation process. It can be used for the dry, wet and cryogenic grinding of small sample amounts with high throughput. The ball mill is equipped with screw-top grinding jars ranging from 1.5 ml to 50ml which are available in various materials such as hardened steel, stainless steel, tungsten carbide and many more.
Benefits:
- Pulverises 50 samples in the 1 batch
- Throughput is 6 times higher than a standard mixer mill
- Powerful pulverisation of 35 Hz
- Reduced grinding time by 50% compared to pulverisers with only 30 Hz
- Has six grinding stations to ensure high throughput
- Grind size can go down to 5 µm
- Process time up to 99 hours
- Grinding jar volumes from 1.5 to 50 ml
- Up to 50 x 1.5 or 2 ml single-use vials per batch (with adapter)
- Suitable for all grinding jars and adapter for 0.5 / 1.5 / 2 / 5 ml single-use vials
- Ergonomic design with touch display
Maximise Your Throughput:
Grinding time in the MM 500 Vario milling machine is 50% less than a standard ball mill that has only 30 Hz. The Vario has six grinding stations to ensure that high throughput can be reached and is 6 times higher than any standard mixer mill. The below graph displays the grinding of basalt in the MM 500 Vario and how it achieves better fineness compared to a class milling machine due to the 35 Hz.
Solutions for Biological Applications and Cell Disruption:
Ball mills are widely used for the homogenisation of biological samples such as tissue, liver, muscle, plants, corn or sputum. The MM 500 Vario milling machine can be equipped with different adapters for single-use vials from 0.2 – 5 ml that make it easy to use for biological applications. Depending on the tube and type of adapter, up to 10 tubes can be inserted per adapter for maximum vial capacity per batch.
For typical homogenising processes of biological materials, it will take less than 2 minutes for results. Cell disruption with good reproducibility and efficiency takes 20 secs to 5 minutes depending on the cell used. To pulverise tough or temperature sensitive samples, cryogenic grinding in a single-use vial may be used.
Sample Materials:
This pulveriser can be used for the homogenisation of many sample materials. These materials include waste, soil, chemical products, coated tablets, drugs, ores, grain, tissue, ceramics, bones, alloys, minerals and many more.
