Sommer SQ-U Non-Contact Flow Sensor 21106
The SQ-U flow sensor from Sommer is a non-contact (ultrasonic) discharge sensor for sewage and waste water flow monitoring.
This system measures flow velocity, water level and simultaneously calculates discharge quantities.
As this ultrasonic flow sensor operates with non-contact technology, it means that it can be installed outside of the body of water. The great advantage behind this is that this way, measurements are not interrupted or impaired by deposits and soiling in the water, which usually happens with submerged devices.
This makes the SQ sensors not only maintenance-free but also easy to access and install.
With a compact design and flexible mounting device, this sensor can easily be installed in existing measurement and process control systems - without the need to adapt or do any structural work.
Equipped with a mounting cube that allows a vertical / horizontal flexible fixation, the SQ sensors can be fixed underneath a bridge or at a crossbeam, at the ceiling of closed channels or in a service manhole of sewer channels. (Adjustable mounting devices available for purchase separately.)
Main Advantages
- Increased accuracy in discharge calculation due to continuous measurement of flow velocity and water level
- Non-contact measuring &; maintenance-free system
- Simple installation
- Seamless integration in existing systems
- No structural work needed in the water
- Multiple Data Output Interfaces: RS 485, Modbus, SDI-12, pulse signal, analogue
- Different size systems for different water levels
- Watertight, floodable and resistant housing withstands aggressive environments
- Integrated hydraulic model for precise discharge calculation
- Water level Measuring Range: 6 m
- Velocity: 0.10 to 15 m/s (depending on the flow conditions)
- Optional: non-contact measurement of water temperature
Applications:
Waste- and process water, such as discharge measurements in sewer systems, wastewater treatment plants, channel systems, ducts, semi-filled pipes and other technical bodies of water.
Ideal to measure the duration and frequency of rain and flood events, as well as central measuring spots in the rainwater sewer system and/or at rainwater overflow basins.
Software and cables ordered separately.
